About MeI grew up in Scottsbluff Nebraska and graduated back in 2001. My wife (Laura) and I met while I was attending The University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Laura and I have three children Lila (14), Henry (12) and Miles (1). We enjoy traveling, spending time with family, and being active. I enjoy music, movies, and reading and I'm proud of my family and what we do together. I also like to laugh at almost everything, including myself.
Philosophy of EducationRelationships matter most, as I get older I have been trying to embrace the fact that you get one shot in all things, so you have to make the most of that shot. When you have urgency, you realize that your impact on the lives of children is something you can't afford to waste. A good quote that describes my philosophy goes something like this: opportunity is missed by some people because it's dressed in overalls and looks like work. Education is a tough job, but if you can relate to your students and their families and you put the work in on the relationship, you gain trust, and you are not just a teacher, you are part of people's lives and their stories. I also feel that being able to read, write and do math is important.
